BIG MAGAZINE-LINKS PAGE
SEPTEMBER 2001
In Spring of 2001 I was asked to make a page layout for Big Magazine. My office was in the West Village. The theme was not precisely determined, but it was either 'Celebrate' or 'New York'. I got going with "New York' initially. I started with the iconic buildings, starting with the Chrysler Building.

Another comp, much more distorted wide-angle view.
The Creative Director at BIG liked the previous piece, but wanted something more chaotic and abstract, with a bit more dynamism. After numerous iterations, I 'burned' the superstructure, and crashed the WTCs together into an abstract form. This was accepted by BIG, and published for the September 2001 Edition. You know what happened about a week later.
